Resolve Marine ropes onto a sinking CDRY BLUE
The cargo vessel M/V CDRY BLUE ran aground on the southwest coast of Sant'Antioco, Italy. At time of grounding, she was in ballast condition with no cargo onboard. Thereafter Resolve Marine was contracted to carry out the wreck removal. The RMG 280 crane barge was mobilized from Resolve Marine's facility in Gibraltar to begin cutting the wreck down to the waterline. The team cut the bow section away from the stern and used chain pullers positioned on the forward hatch cover to drag the stern into shallow water and continue scrapping.

Unseasonably inclement weather caused major delays in the operation and the team was forced to leave the double bottom of the bow for the winter season. The Resolve Marine team remobilized to finish removal of the bow double bottom. The project was successfully completed with the help of local partners and an international crew. All scrapping / disposal of the 3000+ mt of material was completed in Piombino, Italy.
