Mona Island, Puerto Rico
Initially contracted to lighter and refloat the 202-foot freighter JIREH, off from the Natural Reserve of Mona Island’s coral reef, the vessel was ultimately declared a wreck. RESOLVE working closely with the US Coast Guard, NOAA and US Fish and Wildlife cleared the wreck from the site and recycled more than 300 tons of steel from the wreckage with minimal effect to the protected reserve nearby.
