An ROHR dredge sank roughly 500 feet from shore in the deepest part of the gravel pit in Irwindale, CA. Submerged under 90 feet of water, Resolve utilized divers to patch the tanks on the dredge and ran a 3-inch chain under the barge. The chain was attached to pullers located on pin barges in a square formation, with the center open for raising the dredge barge in the center. During refloating operations air was pumped into the sunken dredge tanks and lifted with the chain pullers.
