Resolve Marine was contracted to discharge damaged and displaced shipping containers from SEROJA LIMA, a cargo ship. During transit from the Suez Canal to New York, a shift of the aft container bay caused approximately 118 containers to be impacted with 27 lost at sea. The remaining 91 containers were displaced at various angles and degrees of compromised structural integrity. By implementing specialized rope access methods, Resolve Marine’s response team safely reached the upper containers 120’ above the waterline. Technicians and crew then used two high-capacity crawler cranes, the RMG 1000 (300’x100’) and the RMG 400 (165’x54’) deck barge outfitted with an American 9310 crane, to safely remove the containers within the projected timeline.
