Tahoe Queen

Lake Tahoe, NV | United States

A paddle steamer pulled up onto shore
The 'TAHOE QUEEN', a large wooden paddle wheel dinner boat vessel, suffered a fire and needed to be removed from her dock at the Zephyr Cove Resort. The resort owners required the immediate removal of the vessel. The boat could not be towed due to the condition of the hull and the fact that the lake had become entirely frozen in the winter months. To preserve the environment and waters of Lake Tahoe, the vessel would need to be moved to shore before being cut up for disposal.

Resolve Marine mobilized its equipment and salvage team from Mobile, AL and commenced wreck removal operations. Roller bags were inserted underneath the hull and the team used heavy machinery to drag the vessel up the beach and eventually across a road into a parking lot where the vessel could be dismantled and disposed of. The roller bags ensured that the road and parking lot surfaces, belonging to the resort, were not damaged. The method also ensured that the vessel could be moved a significant distance from its original position before any dismantling was required.

The project was successfully completed, and the team restored the work site area to its original condition.
