Resolve Marine Launches ESG Platform & Commits to UN SDGs

Resolve Marine Launches ESG Platform & Commits to UN SDGs
January 30, 2024 – Fort Lauderdale, Fla., USA – Resolve Marine, a global leader in ship and vessel salvage, emergency response, and specialized marine services, today announced a broader sustainability agenda that includes environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, programs, and reporting. The company has also pledged to three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, or UN SDGs.

In 2023, the company established an ESG Task Force, co-led by Daniel Dettor, General Manager, Europe and Jennifer Schlueter, Senior Manager, Brand, Marketing & Communications. The mandate of the working group is to define and evolve the company's ESG positions, guide decisions about Resolve Marine's ESG commitments, and report on the company's ESG progress over time.

Resolve Marine also announced a commitment to three UN SDGs: SDG 14 – Life Below Water; SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities; and SDG 5 – Gender Equality. According to the United Nations, UN SDGs are opportunities for business-led solutions to be developed and implemented that address the world's biggest sustainable development challenges. The company's commitment to Goal 14 aligns with the company's core business of preventing and minimizing the impact of marine pollution, at sea and onshore. A commitment to Goal 11 involves making a positive impact and giving back globally and locally where Resolve Marine has facilities and conducts project work. Resolve Marine's commitment to Goal 5 supports achieving greater gender equality and female empowerment in the maritime industry.

Joseph Farrell III, Deputy CEO, said, “The specialized nature of our work has always had environmental characteristics and today, our stakeholders increasingly want to work with us because our ESG values are aligned with their ESG values. As we broaden our commitments across social and governance efforts, you can expect to hear more about material ESG charges that are both meaningful across our global organization and among those that we work with in the industry.”
