Resolve Marine Announces Promotions, Appointments and the Retirement of Todd Schauer
Todd Schauer, Director of Projects and a 25-year veteran with the company, will retire effective December 31, 2024. Schauer has been instrumental in shaping Resolve Marine into the Industry leader that it is today. He was the first naval architect to join the company and brought a vision for solving complex maritime challenges that set Resolve Marine apart. Schauer’s focus on building a team that thrives on finding innovative solutions with sometimes limited resources, remains a cornerstone of Resolve Marine’s continued success. Schauer has overseen hundreds of complex projects, both small- and large-scale, and has built a team capable of sustaining and growing the division. Schauer will continue working for Resolve Marine in an advisory role.
Commenting on his retirement Schauer said, “What I am most proud of are the teams I’ve worked with over the years and playing a role in growing Resolve Marine from a small regional company to a market leader. I look forward to helping solve the problems of the future, while in a different capacity.”
Promotions
Samuel Adams has been promoted to Director, Projects effective January 1, 2025, and replaces Schauer. Adams brings 15 years of experience to the role. He first joined Resolve Marine in high school and worked as a Laborer/Salvage Technician. In 2010 he joined the company full time as a Project/Logistics Coordinator and transferred to the company’s United Kingdom facility. Adams worked as a Commercial Diver for five years and was promoted to Project Manager in 2017. From 2021 to 2022 he oversaw the company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) division before being promoted to General Manager, Projects in January 2023. Adams has extensive operational experience including wreck and fuel removal, emergency marine fire response, commercial oversight, and project management. Adams is a certified commercial diver, holds a B.S. in finance from University of Central Florida, an M.B.A. from University of Florida – Warrington College of Business, and is PMP certified.
Matthew Bierwagen has been promoted to Director, Bids and Estimating. In this role he has oversight of directing, developing, and submitting bids and proposals globally. He also assists project management teams through the contract phase and eventual activation of projects. Bierwagen joined the company’s New Orleans-based engineering group in 2011 as a Naval Architect. In 2015 he was transferred to Resolve Marine’s London office to support operations in EMEA, an opportunity to collaborate with the company’s commercial team and develop client and industry relationships across the London insurance market. In 2019, Bierwagen returned to Resolve Marine’s headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL as Tender Manager for the company’s Projects division. Bierwagen holds a B.S. in ocean engineering from Virginia Tech.
Appointments
Nishant Choudhary has been appointed General Manager, Resolve India. In this role he is responsible for commercial operations and oversight of the Resolve Marine’s Mumbai-based India business across emergency response, projects, and regulatory compliance. Choudhary leads a team of 15 that includes salvage professionals, commercial divers, engineers, naval architects, project managers and administrative staff. Choudhary brings over 20 years of experience across engineering, procurement and construction and port-based logistics industries. Most recently he served as the General Manager, Commercial at CRL Terminals Ltd., and before that was Business Development Manager at Vopak India, a Royal Vopak Company. Choudhary holds a B.E. in chemical engineering from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and a Master of Technology in Chemical Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.
Commenting on his appointment, Choudhary said, “I look forward to collaborating with the Resolve Marine global team and driving our India business forward.”
Jeffrey Weaver has been appointed Director, HSEQ. Weaver brings nearly 20 years of HSEQ experience in onshore and offshore industries, most recently as Regional Safety and Training Manager, East Coast Region at Alliance Ground International. Prior to that, Weaver held numerous health and safety manager roles across manufacturing, construction, oil and gas and aviation industries. Weaver was an Armorer in the Army National Guard for 12 years and is CSHO certified, among other credentials. He holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Occupational Safety from San Juan College.
