Hurricane Ian

Fort Myers, FL | United States

A project that will long be remembered for rejuvenating the commercial fishing and fish processing industries and helping put people back to work in South Florida, Resolve Marine was contracted to clear and area devasted by Hurricane Ian. San Carlos Island, Florida, home to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico's pink shrimping industry, was devastated when Hurricane Ian hit landfall as a Category 4 storm.
The work site was hazardous with more than 40 vessels displaced ashore and smashed into piles of debris. Each vessel represented a complex salvage operation requiring individual salvage plans. Access to the vessels demanded extensive work to clear debris pathways for personnel, rigging and roller bag access. Safety issues included fire safety, hazardous materials, working at heights, safe access to capsized vessels, and much more. The team also removed fuel and rotting shrimp from the vessels.
