The 1-Call Alaska difference is prevention and early intervention.
With 45 years of experience, Resolve Marine’s 1-Call Alaska division understands the characteristics of Alaska, where oil spill response is challenging. The geographic breadth of the state, subarctic climates, strong ocean currents, high winds, limited infrastructure, and sensitive habitats for marine mammals, all require specialized response capabilities.
And while not all marine incidents can be prevented, we aim to minimize the environmental impact through conventional salvage, source control techniques and engineering assessments of vessel stability. Prevention and early intervention are crucial because once a pollutant product reaches the water, it is 50 times more expensive to clean up.
If oil or contaminant is released, we use conventional spill response and recovery processes. When necessary, we activate skimmers, ocean-going and airborne equipment, and environmental response personnel that conduct damage assessment and commence open water recovery.

Vessel routing for ships greater than 400 GT in the Alaska EEZ is regulated and transit deviations due to weather conditions or speed are closely monitored.

Duty officers from our in-house vessel tracking centers in Anchorage, Alaska and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, use proprietary state-of-the-art AIS tracking software.
Vessel monitoring ensures that anomalies are detected and vessels needing assistance are identified — and immediate assistance is available. We maintain situational awareness of every vessel enrolled in our program. Real-time communications when transiting the Alaskan EEZ include vessel status, route plans and fuel quantities. Customers consider our onshore duty officers to be part of their onboard team.
In 2022, 1-Call Alaska monitored 3,475 unique vessels transiting the Alaskan EEZ.
